Tweed Ride

The Tweed Ride is the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club’s annual fundraiser. The event kicks off with tea and scones and a swing dance lesson. Participants wearing classic vintage outfits then take a leisurely bike ride through downtown St. Pete before meeting back at the club for dinner, more swing dancing with live music, and shuffleboard matches.
Tweed Rides are held around the world. Ours is one of the larger ones. This year our ticket sales sold out. When we started the Tweed Ride in 2009, we thought it was a perfect fit for the club. The tweed and vintage styles harken back to the 20’s when the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club was founded. It’s a fun, quirky community event that embodies the playful spirit of our members.

Looking down the road, the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club will host the 2023 ISA World Championship, with over 100 international players competing. The club will also celebrate its Centennial in 2024 with even more parties and member events. With 2,000 members and continued growing community interest and support, the club is going strong, offering new member orientations and strategy boot camps, and local league, district, state, and international shuffleboard tournaments.
